Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
Just do what is right. It sounds so simple, so pure, so easy. But reality tells us that doing right is sometimes the most difficult thing you can do. If we look at the life of Job doing the right thing was very festive and then painfully sorrowful and then festive again. It reminds me of a roller coaster.
What is the right thing? Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Definitely this is part of the right thing. Following God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength is also the right thing. Day in and day out I interact with people who know the right thing to do but do not do it because it is inconvenient. It would cause them to sacrifice some selfish things in order to follow with all their hearts.
I certainly am not perfect but am working every day toward that goal. The wonderful thing about perfection is that until we are with Jesus we will never reach it so there will always be a goal in front of us. It hurts my soul to see people walking in darkness when they know the Light. I felt the Lord share with me to remind people that if you think deeply you will know the right thing to do. Don’t put off to tomorrow what is right to do today.
Join me this week in doing what is right, no matter what it costs. Enjoy this thankful time of the year and I will be back next week with more.
