Love Your Neighbor

Love conquers Darkness

This year I have met many people who have made a habit out of giving. They have surrounded me from all directions. It is a wonderful feeling to know that if you ask you receive and if someone sees your need they do their best to help. I have been overwhelmed with kindness and compassion from family, friends and complete strangers.

I believe this is what God had in mind for how people should get along. We can disagree about different things, but we all need to care for those around us.

Matthew 22:36-40 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (NIV)

Letting the love of God into our hearts softens us so that we can easily love those around us. I plan on exercising the love God has put into my heart by loving my neighbors this week. Would you join me?

Enjoy your week. I will be back next week with more.

Kitty, this is so good and true. I especially like the part about His love softening our hearts to love… I saw something new for me in what you wrote. I want to let him love me more so that I can have a soft heart. I want to exercise that love and give it to others. I needed that reminder. Thanks. And love to you!
